With the evolution of today’s business networks, the convergence of voice and data technologies is now a reality. Because IP Telephony systems are so tightly integrated with computer networks, there is a need for technology companies with Data Networking experience to be able to install and maintain these highly complex systems, CMCTG is in the unique position to be able to handle the convergence.
CMC Technology Group has dedicated Systems Engineers on staff with expertise in core networking equipment from Cisco, Hewlett Packard and Adtran. Additionally, our staff is qualified to work on Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems, VMWare Virtual Infrastructure and several leading Linux distributions. Combined our team has installed and maintained network systems for hundreds of companies throughout New England.
The Networking Systems group offers advanced network infrastructure design, installation and support to all of our customers. IP Telephony systems are now tightly integrated with computer networks. CMC Technology Group’s Networking Systems group capabilities dovetail nicely with this growing need.
Virtual Infrastructures
Multiple Virtual Machines each running their own operating system are frequently used in server consolidation, where different services that used to run on individual machines in order to avoid interference, are instead run in separate VMs on the same physical machine.
Because the server hardware is virtualized in this type of environment it eases upgrading, maintaining and disaster recovery operations.
Terminal Servers
A terminal server can enable businesses to quickly access almost any application over their wide area network or the Internet because relatively little information is transferred between the remote terminal and the server.
These remote terminals (or thin clients) can also be used for desktop replacement. Many organizations have found that thin clients can be deployed in as little as 15 minutes where a typical PC may take as much as 3 hours to prepare for a user.
Microsoft Active Directory
Active Directory also allows network administrators to assign policies, deploy software, and apply critical updates to an organization. Active Directory stores information and settings in a central database and can vary from a small installation with a few hundred objects, to a large installation with millions of objects.
Many businesses do not fully utilize the power of Active Directory to help control their computer infrastructure. CMC Technology Group has leveraged the power of Active Directory along with many of Microsoft’s other services to automate deployments of desktops as well as applications.
